Founded in 2013 Brixton Brewery is a family-run community business, making beer in the heart of one of London’s most colourful and famous neighbourhoods. They are inspired by the manic energy of the area, with all its history, noise, aromas, and vibrant mix of cultures and people.
Instagram “Did u know that the zigzag lines on our Coldharbour Lager cans were inspired by the iconic Southwyck House, aka The Barrier Block estate on Coldharbour Lane? The block, built between 1972-81, is a striking example of Brutalist architecture.
Travellers to Central London once used Coldharbour Lane as a stopping off point to rest for the night. A coldharbour was a basic shelter where travellers could rest and find sanctuary from the elements. These days Coldharbour Lane is a wonderfully hectic, anything goes kind of street inspiring our Pilsner style beer.”
During my time at Drew London I worked in a few small projects for Brixton Brewery. I really loved their branding and when they launched a ‘Design your on Beer’ Compition online I though I take this one step further. Together with the knowledge I already have from working with them I created a passion project and redesigned one of their core lagers.
